Transit magasin’s global Covid-19 feature series
Covid-19 has wrecked havoc on societies everywhere. For Transit magasin I was one of two commissioning copy editors for an article series that offered unique global coverage and local insight into the effects of the pandemic in countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and North and South America.
By connecting and working with local journalists, the series explores the different ways societies and people all over the world are impacted by and responding to Covid-19. Current events are presented through the voices of those personally affected by either the virus or its consequences. Claims are backed up with reference to up-to-date research, while stories were contextualised in the political and social situations of the country and region. The series thus goes deeper and gives a more nuanced insight into global affairs than what is traditionally found in most foreign affairs news coverage.
